Superheroes filled the ballroom on February 22 at the Good Shepherd Gala.
Steve Patterson, Master Comedian and Master of Ceremonies, made the 1,000 guest laugh until there were tears in their eyes. Vern Zapfe, Chairman of the Board and driving force behind the Gala, got everyone up to their feet to sing the national anthem for a second time. Guests enjoyed a gourmet meal, danced to the sounds of Sensation, bidded on the silent auction items and witnessed a bidding war for a Toronto Maple Leafs box during the live auction.
But there was also a serious side to this event. Parm, a DARE graduate, spoke about his journey with addiction. You could hear a pin drop as everyone listened intently to Parm, who concluded his testimonial by identifying everyone in the room as a superhero. Heroes, who with their support of the Gala, make a tremendous difference in the lives of people struggling with homelessness and poverty.
We graciously thank our guests, sponsors, Board of Directors, volunteers and staff who made this night possible!
