Volunteers are at the heart of Good Shepherd Ministries, making our mission of compassion possible every single day. Through their dedication, we can provide essential services to individuals struggling with homelessness and poverty. These services include providing 1,000 meals and snacks daily, overnight shelter, clothing, fundraising and administrative support. Their efforts ensure that every person who comes through our doors is welcomed with dignity, respect, and hope. It is their commitment that strengthens our community and helps transform lives.
This year, we are honoured to share that the General Superior of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God. Br. Pascal Ahodegnon has noted 2026 is the year to celebrate volunteers, and specifically the theme of volunteering in the manner of St. John of God. This recognition offers all of us an opportunity to renew our commitment to fostering a vibrant culture of service, hospitality, and community.
