People LOVE to talk about the weather. In Canada, it’s arguably a national obsession, with good reason. In most parts of the county there are four distinct seasons to enjoy…or endure as is the case for far too many.
When Winter arrives (usually with a WALLOP), the homeless must scramble to find somewhere to hunker down and wait out the storm.
Winter temperatures in Toronto often dip down to -30 degrees, and worse, and can stay there for weeks. At those temperatures, it doesn’t take long for frostbite and hypothermia to set in (learn more here).
Good Shepherd supports the vulnerable members of our community with shelter, meals, & clothing. After 60 years of responding to the homeless, we know what’s most needed!
