About Good Shepherd Ministries’ Homeless Veterans Program

Good Shepherd has been working with homeless Veterans since 2010. In collaboration with the Royal Canadian Legion and Veterans Affairs Canada, Good Shepherd has been able to help homeless Veterans find housing, seek help for addictions, enhance life and social skills, and connect to resources in their community. The program has supported more than 400 Veterans to date.

About the King Charles III’s Coronation Medal

The medal program was first announced three days before the Coronation, on May 3, 2023, by the Prime Minister. The inaugural ceremony took place on May 6, 2024. To be eligible for this prestigious award candidates must meet the following national criteria:

Have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region, or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada and be alive on 6 May 2023. The award can be made posthumously, as long as the candidate was alive on that date.”

Good Shepherd remains committed to supporting homeless Canadian Veterans and those at-risk of homelessness. We stand firm in the belief that “One homeless Veteran is one too many.”

Please consider donating so that we can continue to support Veterans that have fallen on hard times.
