On the evening of September 18th, we honoured our volunteers with our Next Destination: Kindness Volunteer Appreciation Event. Community spirit was in full effect with over 100 of our volunteers in attendance. The event included a buffet dinner with dishes from around the world, a DJ spinning tunes, dancing, games and more. Smiles were everywhere as our honored guests chatted, mingled, shared stories and laughter.
Good Shepherd has supported the homeless community since 1963, and since day one volunteers have been an integral part of the Good Shepherd family. Our volunteers help in every aspect of our organization, from serving food and sorting donations, governing, fundraising and most importantly welcoming our guests with love and kindness.
To all our volunteers we offer our sincerest gratitude. Your tireless efforts, your empathy, your positive attitudes allow Good Shepherd to fulfill our mission of being present for the homeless community.
